Abstract: Several typical urban wetlands in Wuhan have been selected，and the investigation and analysis on the species resource，distribution and application of aquatic plant have been carried out. The results showed that the main aquatic plant type in Wuhan were emergent plants，floating plants（including floating leaves and floating drift）and submerged plants，in which submerged plants had 44 types，emergent plants had 41 types，and floating plants had only 25 types. There were some prominent problems in application of aquatic plant，such as less species，limited application scope，monotonous configuration，lack of management，not enough research on ecological problems，insufficient knowledge of designers，and so on. Put forward some suggestions and countermeasures in accordance with these problems.
