Abstract: Reviews and comments on foreign studies of acute insomnia. Firstly introduces the current three system used in the diagnosis of acute insomnia，to discuss the problems of acute insomnia conceptualization. From the existing etiology theoretical model and the new progress of etiology exploration in recent years，to explain the pathogenesis of acute insomnia. Then expounds the present situation of treatment and medication，finally puts forward some future research suggestions of acute insomnia.
