Abstract: Methamphetamine is a highly addictive central nervous system stimulant. Longterm abuse of methamphetamine can damage the structure and function of the brain, which leads to cognitive impairment, including learning and memory impairment, distraction, etc. ,among which learning and memory impairment is the most prominent. Many addiction theories indicate that the hallmark feature of addiction is the lack of inhibition or executive control caused by learning and memory impairment, which will contribute to persistent drug abuse. Therefore, this article reviews the molecular mechanism of learning and memory impairment induced by methamphetamine addiction and the methods of improving learning and memory impairment, which provide ideas for the clinical treatment of methamphetamineinduced cognitive impairment.
