Preparation and Performance of Nickel-cobalt Layered Double Hydroxide as Supercapacitor Material

Abstract: Transition metals,especially Ni and Co elements,have been widely investigated and applied in developing energy storage electrode materials due to their excellent electrochemical properties and abundant natural resources. Among them,NiCo-layered double hydroxide(NiCo-LDH)electrode material attracted much attention because of its merits,such as tunable morphology and high specific capacitance. Herein,we reviewed the preparation methods of NiCo-LDH as a supercapacitor material and its modified materials via ion-doping and hybrid combination. The effects of the preparation method on its microstructure and electrochemical performance were discussed.
