Research on Path Planning Technology Based on Features of Additive Manufacturing

Abstract: Based on features of additive manufacturing model, a stratification and path planning method was proposed to solve the problem that the complex parts with curved joints are difficult to be layered very smoothly. Therefore,the five-axis machining method can be truly applied in the field of additive manufacturing and the manufacturing capabilities of traditional processing will be greatly improved. Based on the features′ definition,this paper used path planning of Two5D features and Freeform features to ensure that the printing device can successfully complete the printing task. Finally,the practical examples of the two path planning methods were given.
