Drug Fever Induced by Levothyroxine Sodium: a Case Report and Literature Review

Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical features of drug fever induced by levothyroxine sodium and to improve the awareness of this adverse drug reaction. Methods The clinical data of one case of drug fever induced by levothyroxine sodium (in Department of Nephrology and Rheumatology,The Fourth Hospital of Wuhan) was analyzed retrospectively,and the related literature was reviewed. Results The levothyroxine sodium was the main reason causing the patient′s fever. Conclusion The clinician and pharmacist should pay more attention to the drug fever caused by levothyroxine sodium in order to decrease the adverse reaction and the unreasonable usage of antibiotics.
