Biodegradable Gel Electrolyte Supercapacitor Based on Gelatin

Abstract: Biodegradable gel electrolyte supercapacitors are green energy storage devices. The crosslinked gelatin-NaCl gel electrolyte(CGPE)was synthesized,and with polypyrrole stainless steel electrode,the supercapacitors were fabricated. The structure and morphology of CGPE were characterized with FTIR and SEM. The ionic conductivity of CGPE and the specific capacitance of supercapacitor were determined with electrochemical workstation. The results showed that the nanometer pore evenly distributed in the CGPE. the ionic conductivity of CGPE was 5. 24×10-2 S/cm at room temperature,the specific capacitance of supercapacitor was 45. 8 F/g . Biodegradable gel electrolyte provides possibility for implantation of energy devices.
