Abstract: The Phaseolus vulgaris agglutinin(PHA)can be combined with the oligosaccharides specially, which plays an important role on the coagulation and insecticidal function. The leguminous plants lectin sequences were compared, the common bean sequences showed the highest similarity to the cowpea lectin sequences. The common bean lectin sequences in different regions were analyzed by ClustalX2.1 and Mega7.0,the similarity in the common bean lectin sequences was about 74% and the Chinese common bean lectin showed the high affinity with Malysia common bean lectin. The phylogenetic tree results showed the common bean lectin was originated from America and came into China through Southeast Asia(Malaysia),which is in accordance with the common bean history records.

Key words: Phaseolus vulgaris, lectin;sequence analysis, phylogenetic tree affinity
