Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical effect of Zhigancao Decoction on treatment of atrial premature beat. Methods 80 hospitalized patients（Jun. 2015 to Jun. 2016）with atrial premature beat were randomly divided into the traditional Chinese medicine group and the western medicine group with 40 cases in each. The Chinese medicine group was treated with Zhigancao Decoction on the base of syn? drome differentiation and treatment，the western medicine group received oral propafenone tablets（0.15g/ time，3 times a day）. After 3 weeks of continuous treatment，the clinical efficacy and the number of atrial premature beats were evaluated in the two groups. Results The effective rate of clinical symptom improvement was 92. 5% in traditional Chinese medicine group and was 75. 0% in western medicine group.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant（ P < 0. 05）.The dynamic electrocardiogram showed the number of atrial premature beats decreased significantly（ P < 0. 05）in the two groups after the treatment，and the number of the traditional Chinese medicine group was significantly lower than that of the western medicine group（ P < 0. 05）. Conclusion The curative effect of Zhigancao Decoction in the treatment of atrial premature beat is significantly.
