Abstract: Persistent pulmonary hypertension of the new-born(PPHN)is one of the critical diseases in the neonatal period. Its diagnosis, treatment, and care have always been major clinical challenges. In 1992,Kinsella successfully applied inhalation of exogenous nitric oxide on the treatment of PPHN at the first time, which opened up new methods and ideas for the treatment of PPHN. In recent years, the studies have showed that inhaled nitric oxide ( iNO ) therapy combined with non-specific vasodilator drugs could significantly improve the therapeutic effect of PPHN,also it could improve the children′s blood gas parameters and signs of pulmonary hypertension more effectively, more quickly and more securely. However, there were still many problems. In this article, the author summarized PPHN,and reviewed the treatment with nitric oxide and the treatment with iNO combined nonspecific vasodilators on PPHN.

Key words: persistent pulmonary hypertension of the new-born(PPHN), inhalation of exogenous nitric oxide, non-specific vasodilators
