Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinic value of palliative gastrectomy combined with chemotherapy for advanced gastric cancer with complications. Methods From January 2010 to December 2014,a total of 42 patients who underwent palliative gastrectomy combined with modified DCF regime chemotherapy due to advanced gastric cancer with complications of pyloric obstruction or bleeding were chosen in the hospital. Each patient received at least 2 cycles of the treatment, and the efficacies and toxicities were evaluated after treatment. The long- term survivals were evaluated by following- up. Results 9 patients were performed palliative total gastrecomy and 33 patients were performed distal subgastrectomy, respectively. The patients received 3 to 11 cycles of modified DCF regime after surgery. The main adverse reactions were myelosuppression, alopecia and gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea and vomiting. The median survival time was 14. 1 months. The 1-year and 3-year survival rates were 61. 1% and 20. 5%,respectively.
