There is a tendency of anti-metaphor in Chinese and foreign poetry in the second part of the 20th century. Anti-metaphor is the natural result of the influence of the post-modern art conceptions in the west world,it is tired of the language wisdom in poetry and opposed to high modernism.Domestic anti-metaphor begins in the revolt of linguistic homogenization in misty poetry and opposes aesthetic fatigue of metaphor and the ideographic routines. They have a lot in common, for example, which both reject metaphor and relevant rhetorical skills and turn to more colloquial and living details in the linguistic style. Anti-metaphor argues against the technological hegemony of metaphor and old poetic style in essence. The metaphorical feature of language can’t be changed by anti-metaphor,which signifies the broad sense of metaphor such as metonymy in linguistics. The metaphor in poetry is impossible to be refused. The experiment of anti-metaphor writing is helpful to probe into new possibilities of metaphor in modern poetry that we should pay more attention to.

Reed studied ecological psychology as an American philosopher of science along the mainline of the biological evolution by investigating the behavioral regulation when animals encounter the environment, based on the Gibson’s thought. First,it extends Gibson’s visual perception theory, including affordance theory, the ecological optics theory as well as ecological information theory. Second,it is combined with the thought of evolutionary psychology, such as ecological dimensions in psychology as well as the evolution of functional systems and neural regulation mechanism. Finally,it develops an ecological view of language, deepening an ecological view of cognition and interpreting the culture and systems theory of representation. This provides an important theoretical basis for evolutionary epistemology and the related fields.

Lin Shu is not a real translator from the perspective of the concept of translation. He just involved in the second half of translating:that reprocessing the Chinese information he received and“domesticating”it more thoroughly. This mode of translation has both advantages and disadvantages:on one hand both parties performed their own functions, thus Lin’s partners needn’t rack their wits trying to reproduce the original text’s spirit while Lin himself didn’t have to take the trouble comprehending the author’s undermeaning;on the other hand, both parties minded only their own business, which actually cut the whole process of translation into two parts. It caused many unexpected troubles, including poor material selecting, uncertain background information of the source text, lack of fidelity to the original and frequent translation errors. Though this mode of translation has its own imperfection, what we should learn from it is its advantages, for example:is it possible for experts of foreign languages and specialists in particular fields to work together to translate foreign academic works? It can really give us valuable inspiration on how to avoid awkwardly translating in academic works as we often see nowadays.
