Forty Years of Environmental Education in China: Development,Difficulties and Recommandations

Abstract: It has been more than forty years since China started its environmental education in 1973. During this process,its theoretical system has not yet formed,people have not had a clear understanding of its implications,and there have been no thorough studies of important issues related to environmental education.The practice effect of the education needs to be improved,public environment awareness is still rather weak,teachers lack motivation to infiltrate environmental education into their teachings,and the environmental education fall into an embarrassing situation. To further promote the development of China’ s environmental education,it is necessary to accelerate the establishment of a theoretical system,the institution and implementation of corresponding policies,and the legislative progression.
