Comparative Study of the Ode to God Poetry of Tagore and Qu Yuan

Abstract: Rabindranath Tagore,Indian famous modern poet,wrote many Ode to God poetry.Gitanjali, which brought him worldwide reputation, is religious lyrics, showing the yearning for God, as well as the pursuit of the ideal of the unity of God and the people.Qu Yuan, the great poet in China’s Warring States era, wrote many Ode to God poetry in his life , one of which is Nine Songs. This two famous poets,of China and India, both has a worldwide reputation, and also created a lot of Ode to God poetry with their respective national culture, but their understanding and attitude toward God is utterly different. To compare this, will help us to understand the different philosophical outlook and philosophy of life of the people of China and India.
