Abstract: Liszt’s Les jeux d’eaux a la Villa d’Este and Ravel’s jeu d’Eau are two works taking water as theme. To make a careful comparative analysis of structure of the two from the angle of music itself will be helpful for us to understand and to play Liszt’ and Ravel’s piano works, to elevate our appreciative ability in tune and expression of the pianos and to know better about Liszt’s and Ravel’s general style of the composition creation.
