The Relationship between Human Capital，Social Capital，and the Income of the Mobile Population——Based on the Empirical Data of Chips 2008

Abstract: At the backdrop of economic transformation and institutional changes，trans- regional workforce mobility has become an important social phenomenon in today’s Chinese labor market. The study of the relationship between the join effect of human and social capitals and the income of the mobile population is of significance in improving the existing circumstances of this group of people. Using the data of chips 2008，this paper analyzed the reciprocal effect of human and social capitals on the income of the mobile population.Regression analysis arrives at the conclusion：1. both human and social capitals have noticeable promotional effect on the income of the mobile population；2. human capital is more effective than social capital；3. the joint-effect mechanism of human and social capitals produces a substitution effect on the income.
