Signal Control and Simulation of Intersections Based on Bus Priority

Abstract: Based on investigation of traffic flow and current signal timing of intersections, the green ratio is determined by passenger flow ratio and phase saturation so as to minimize per capita delay. Signal timing is optimized and bus trip efficiency is improved. Instances are tested by theoretical calculation and software simulation, the results show that when the phase flow is not saturated, the green ratio optimization method can improve the entrance lane capacity utilization rate, reduce average passenger delay and implement bus priority on the premise of traffic smoothing.
