Current Situation of Regulations on Recycling and Disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipments

Abstract: Associated with the rapid generation of large amounts of waste electrical and electronic equipments (WEEE) which are not only contaminants but also some valuable components,governments have been concerned about regulations to recycle and dispose these WEEE. This study focused on and compared the policies that have been applied for WEEE management in developed countries including German Netherland,America,and the developing countries including China,India and Brazil,along with the analysis of characters and advantages of these policies and strategies. The WEEE recycling system,fund subsidy,review process etc. were also studied to establish and improve a scientific and reasonable system for WEEE disposal in China.
