Abstract: Objective To study the abnormal rate and influential factors of serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT)results in university freshmen. Methods The author conducted physical examination for 4 393 university students enrolled in 2015,also calculated their serum ALT abnormal rate and revealed its influential factors. Results The gross abnormal detection rate was 6. 65%,which was 11. 06% for men and 2. 78% for women, respectively. The former was substantially higher than latter ( χ2 =120. 801,P < 0. 01). The abnormal detection rate was 6. 08% for local students and 8. 62% for students from other provinces. In other words, the former was apparently lower than the latter( χ2 = 7. 982,P < 0. 01).According to the analysis results, the most prominent contributing factor was obesity(56. 51%),which was followed by hyperuricemia(44. 18% ). The third factor was the HBsAg- positive(10. 62% ).Conclusion The ALT abnormal rate is related to gender, body mass index, area of origin students, hyperuricemia and hepatitis B infection.
