Abstract: The ground 3D laser scanning technology is widely used on improving the efficiency of road measurement. Taking some roads of Xiamen University of Technology as the object，based on FARO Focus3D three dimensional laser scanner，the author carried out point cloud data collecting，projecting picture extracting，fast drawing of digital line graphic（DLG），to realize 2D information extraction and 3D model construction，meanwhile，the author compared the data with traditional total station data，and obtained the integrity and effectiveness of information of laser cloud data.
