Abstract: Neohesperidin dihydrochalcone （NHDC） is a new type of sweetener with high sweetness and low calorie，its sweetness is about 1 500-1 800 times of sucrose. It has good shielding bitter effect and physiological activity. In this paper，the extraction and synthesis of NHDC precursors，the extraction and synthesis of hesperidin and naringin，the extraction and synthesis of neohesperidin and the synthesis of NHDC were mainly introduced. The detection technology of NHDC and its application in food industry， medicine and feed industry were also introduced.
