Abstract: Nucleic acid is very important in genetic information transmission and is closely related to a series of life phenomena such as growth, heredity and variation of living organisms. The variation of protein concentration can reflect the early stages of certain diseases. Therefore, the detection of proteins is valuable in disease diagnosis and genomics. Recently, with the development of nano-biotech? nology, fluorescent nanomaterials have emerged as a powerful tool for establishing new analytical methods due to their low toxicity, easiness of synthesis and low cost. In this review,we introduced the fundamental properties of the new fluorescent nanomaterials and focused on their recent applications on nucleic acid and protein analysis.
