Abstract: “Dialects” have definite and unique external rhetorical value to film creation. Not only are they able to create life-like distinctive-individualitied characters, portray accurately the different traits of multielemental regional cultures, and meet the needs for expressing these cultures, …to commercial movies, a certain dialect can also become a rhetorical means of humour and fun-making for its rhetorical exaggeration. To artistic films, as an important organic component part in narrative time and space, dialect rhetoric can add a sense of reality that lens are unable to achieve, besides, together with documentary lens language, it creates an audio-visual environment indispensable to film reality, accurately expressing cultural and life reality, which can not otherwise be achieved.
Key words: dialect rhetoric, multielemental regional cultures, cultural affinity, restoration of reality, “misreading” and humour
