Exploratory Analysis of Deng Xiaoping’s Good-Neighbourly Diplomatic Strategy

Abstract: Deng Xiaoping’s good-neighbourly diplomatic strategg is worked out by Deng himself in accordance with the change of international situation and the internal need to concentrate energy on economic construction. Starting from a strategic height and aiming at national interests, he stood for developing all-round good-neighbourly and friendly relations with neighbouring countries in the five principles of peaceful co-existence on the basis of independent sovereignty surpassing the differences in ideology and social systems. Its implementation extremely improves the relations between China and her nerghbouring countries, which has also laid solid theoretical and practical foundations for adhering to the present policy of “committing to build good-neighbourly relationship and partnership with neighbouring countries” and for pursuing the strategy of “peaceful rising”.
