Abstract: “Globalization”is in essence cultural hegemonism. The process of globalizationis that of the expansion of a certain culture and ideology. That is why globalization also calls regionalization and pluralization. Art design is an important carrier of culture and ideology. In globalization, design interprets the sound, and defend the independence, of national culture. What comes next is the fact thatnational design culture is by no means fixed traditional designs and patterns,and in the development of the times, it keeps multiplying and originating and forever remains in an unfinished state. In modern society, owing to technology globalization, design is inevitably international. The competition of national design culture in globalization is mainly the competition in technology. Therefore,Chinese design should maintain an acute national consciousness and that of intense global competition as well.
