Withdrawal of Zimbabwe From British Commonwealth as Viewed in Light of Political Science

Abstract: On December the 7th of 2003, The Commonwealth Heads Of Government Meeting (CHOGM) decided to continue Zimbabwe’s suspension from the Commonwealth due to the human rights and democracy condition in Zimbabwe.On the same day the government of Zimbabwe declared its formal withdrawal from the Commonwealth. This essay tries to look at this political event from the point of political science,holding the view that Zimbabwe’s present democratic political system lacks necessary independency, because to some extent it is based on the original economic foundation controlled by thewhite farmer, so the political system is not capable of meeting the demand of thesociety, while the hurried measures taken by the government to satisfy people’seconomic benefits are regarded as a viola
