Analysis of Causes of Intended“Satire” Turning Out Contrarily to Be “Advice” in Han fu

Abstract: The causes of intended“satire” turning out contrarily to be “advice” in Han fu a poetic prose of the Han Dynasty are as follows: 1. The narration of extravagance and luxury had long had its literary tradition. 2. What was intended to be “satirized” had its aspect able to be eulogized, and what Han fu “satirically remonstrated about” was not extravagance and luxury but ought to be moral standard. the feature of the style of fu called for such boast as “no one could add further”.4. The composing purpose of fu was thought the “eulogize”. 5. Criticizers of the Han Dynasty took the fu’s by Qu Yuan and poetic criticism as the standard in criticizing Han fu, which turned to “eulogy” thereafter.
