Abstract: Xiaogu shi fuchuang is a sentence in the current version of Chinese classical poetry A Poem for JIAO Zhong qing’s Wife. The interpretations to fuchuang vary, and many far-fetched opinions say that fuchuang means to be about 10 years old. Fuchuang has been found in the Buddhist scriptures of Southern Dynasties, which after the bed shape changed caused by cultural exchange. The study found that Fuchuang has experienced a process of evolution of meanings:the original meaning of leaning on the bed, learning to walk with bed’s surport and then refers to be young. From the version history, the sentence Xiaogu shi fuchuang may not exist in the original version, but from Gu Kuang’s Deserted Wife.Xiaogu shi fuchuang should not be interpreted as the girl be about ten years old, which actually refers to her young.
