Study on the Characteristics of Family-school WeChat Interactive Time and Space in Collaborative Education

Abstract: The interaction between family and school is popularly carried out via WeChat in the modern information-based society of China,and WeChat’s positive function in modern family-school interaction is becoming increasingly salient. The time and space of family-school interaction on WeChat has the features of“semiotic utterance”“disembedding”and“presence”. The network semiotic utterance on WeChat enables parents and teachers to enjoy the convenience of network time and space;the disembedding feature fuses the time-space boundary of family with that of the school,bringing anxiety to the actual life of both parties;the“thumb up”strategy that is frequently employed in the“present”time and space of familyschool interaction on WeChat reflects teacher’s power regulation of parent’s behavior in the network time and space. Family-school interaction on WeChat should be led by the school to enhance the educational function in the network virtual time and space,improve teachers’informational technology literacy,and guide parents to participate in the cyber interaction in a rational manner;it should combine cyber and actual interactions and recover the educational essence of family-school collaboration.
