Abstract: With a high market share and a large number of active users, WeChat has given birth to a“micro” era. The majority of WeChat users are colleges students; the number of the male almost doubles that of the female, but the latter are obviously more active than the former. Investigations also show that female students are more concerned about their friend circle (moments) and interact more frequently within the circle. Theoretical analysis finds that female students, before interpersonal interaction, will first carry out self-interaction and expect to form a positive social network of relations. However, WeChat can hardly strengthen interpersonal communication. Breaking the limitations of time and space, the rise of network social platforms has totally changed people’s ways of communication, people becoming less willing to express. They are so accustomed to communicating on WeChat that they even forget how to communicate with others in the real world. Good interpersonal communication is an important factor to maintain college students’mental health, so this paper puts forward some effective proposals to promote interpersonal communication.
