Imperial Examination Career:A New Angle to Understand the Classical Writing Movement Advocated by Han Yu and Liu Zongyuan

Abstract: One-sided development of parallelism since the Six Dynasties,disparate administrative regions since the mid-Tang,the prevalence of Buddhism and Taoism,without a doubt,are important background to understand the Classical Writing Movem entadvocated by Han Yu and Liu Zongyuanthe .However,the rise of the Imperial Exam ination and the intellectual’s bumpy career is also a non-negligible background and angle. The rise of the Imperial Exam ination,gave the intellectual a chance to read the classical writings,to be pretentious and ambitious. Their bumpy career enable them to return to the article. While the self,the truth and the article fused together,that gave rise to the Classical Writings. This is notonly a new path to understand the Classical Writing movement,which also a new important quality of the Classical Writings.
