Abstract: Context is included in the studying scope of linguistics. Linguistic context is only one part of the studying. The paper discusses with examples the punctuations of the context signals——comma, semicolon, dash, brackets as well as full-stop, their functions as suggesting signals and their conjunction functions between the clauses or sentences. The paper points out in the end that while cultivating the language sense through reading, the function of the context signals should be paid attention to. If the context and the "context signals" raised for the first time by the author are used together in the English reading, the achievements will be doubled.
