Abstract: Currently, soil radon measurement is a commonly used radioactive geophysical method, widely used in the fields of hidden structure detection, radioactive mineral exploration, groundwater resource exploration, and radioactive environmental evaluation. The weathered crust in a granite area in South China is thick and the terrain fluctuates greatly. Ordinary geophysical methods are not suitable for the current working environment. This study used soil radon measurement methods to delineate multiple anomalous halos and anomalous point zones and delineate anomalous prospective areas, providing a basis for the next step of geological exploration work. The research results indicated that soil radon measurement could better reflect the radioactive characteristics of the survey area and was an effective means to search for hidden structures and hidden uranium ore bodies.

Key words: soil radon measurement, granite- type uranium deposit, anomalous halo
