Abstract: The novels in Ming and Qing Dynasties are the most important step in the novel history of ancient China. Research for the classification began from History of Chinese Fiction by Lu Xun. Compare the classification of novels in Ming and Qing Dynasties in such books like History of Chinese Fiction by Lu Xun, History of Chinese Literature by Yuan Xingpei and Fictional History of the Ming and Qing Dynasties by Tan Banghe ,we can find out that they have their advantages, but also have their deficiencies.According to the results of previous studies,we can try to build up a new way of classification to the novels in Ming and Qing Dynasties,which may be more reasonable.
