Abstract: Strengthening of experimental teaching is an important way to improve students′ practical ability and innovation ability. It is also an important goal of experimental teaching reform in universities，and it plays an important role in the construction of "double first-class" universities and specialties. The author has improved the teaching system of Horticulture Basic Experiment course，and also put forward the following aspects to realize the teaching system：the increase of comprehensive and designed experiments，the reform of experimental teaching methods， the improvement of assessment mechanism of experimental courses. Besides， in order to improve the innovation consciousness，it was necessary to feed the experimental teaching with scientific research，encourage students to participate in or declare the research projects and construct innovative teaching staff. Analysis of teaching effects showed that the experiment system had certain effect on promoting students′ comprehensive ability.
