Assessment of Regional Strategy of Brazilian Lula Government

Abstract: After its independence, Brazil developed the relationship with the neighbor countries prior to the other diplomatic policies. While Lula Government continued the policy after he came to power in 2003, he has also established regional strategy of “strengthening strategic relationship with Argentina”, “strengthening the construction of Southern Common Markets” and “promoting the integration of South American Regions”. The strategy includes: solidifying the cooperation with the South American countries, fortifying the construction of the Southern Common Markets, widening the integration of South American regions, realizing the free trade in Andean Community, promoting the Brazilian investigation to the South American countries, etc.
