制造业集聚促进城市创新了吗?—基于U型关系视角的实证分析

Has Manufacturing Agglomeration Facilitated City Innovation?:An Empirical Analysis from the Perspective of U-shaped Relationship

摘要: 以中国 271 个地级及以上城市为研究样本,通过构建 IV-GMM 模型对制造业集聚影响城市创新的 U 型关系进行分析,研究发现,制造业集聚对城市创新存在显著的“先抑制后促进”的 U 型影响关系且这种 U 型关系存在显著的地区及城市规模异质性。这一经验证据,提供了研究制造业集聚与城市创新非线性关系的新视角,对于推动制造业集聚发展、促进城市创新水平提高具有重要的理论与现实意义。

Abstract: Based on a research sample of 271 Chinese cities of the prefecture level and above,an IV-GMM model is built to analyze the U-shaped relationship of manufacturing agglomeration influencing city innovation. It is found that there is a prominent U-shaped relationship,with promotion coming after inhibition, as to how manufacturing agglomeration influences city innovation; and the U-shaped relationship has a significant regional and urban scale heterogeneity. This empirical evidence reveals a new perspective for studying the non-linear relationship between manufacturing concentration and urban innovation. It is also of great theoretical and practical significance for bolstering the agglomeration of manufacturing industries and improving urban innovation levels.
