Abstract: Wang Yangming’s doctrine of“unity of knowledge and action”is based on his conscientious cosmology and the knowledge-action unification is reflected throughout the doctrine of conscience. The process of conscientious cosmology’s metaplasia presents five dimensions of unity of knowledge and action: the unity of undiscovered conscience; the unity of undiscovered and discovered consciences; the unity of man and other things after the discovery of conscience; the unity of mind and body after the discovery of conscience; the unity of mind’s consciousness and mind’s emotion and intention after the discovery of conscience. Wang’s doctrine of“unity of knowledge and action”is the epitomization of the traditional cosmology and epistemology and is a precious property we should inherit.
