Investigation into the Present State of the Quantitative Analysis Abilities forthe Postgraduates of Humanity and Social science Specialties

Abstract: By the questionnaire for the postgraduates of humanity and social science specialties, after analyzing present state and characteristics of their quantitative analysis abilities, we find out that the consciousness of, the base of and applying attitude to the quantitative analysis vary according to specialties, grades and professional orientation. At present, most postgraduates majoring humanities have realized that quantitative analysis is an important research method and hope to master some mechanism of quantitative analysis. But in general, their quantitative analysis ability is vary weak, the arrangement for the classes in the universities is improper, and the postgraduates’ study about the related knowledge is inadequate, which combine to influence their abilities and application of quantitative analysis. Thus, the quantitative analysis ability for the postgraduates can be cultivated by raising realization about the important function of quantitative analysis, arranging the course properly and emphasizing practical ability.
