摘要： 精通现代叙事艺术“是海明威获诺贝尔文学奖的重要原因，其短篇小说《弗朗西斯·麦康伯短促的幸福生活》可以说是他的写作技巧的经典之作。这篇小说除了使用因果线形叙事模式外，还含有重复和对比的子模式。这篇小说所使用的聚焦方式在复杂之中透出一定的规律外聚焦是有限全知聚焦方式中的特例。

Abstract: Ernest Hemingway was bestowed the Nobel Prize for literature on account of his mastery of modern narrative art. Among his short fiction, “The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber” is a masterpiece of his narrative artistry. Besides the linear narrative mode, it is embedded a sub-mode of repetition and contrast. While concerning its complicated focalization style, this short story exemplifies a special case of omnipresencewith the narrators focalization offering the structure and characters focalization the details.
