摘要： 苔丝短暂的一生始终与道德相抗争，面对贫穷与贞操观念的压迫，追求理想的爱情成为泡影，她是真、善、美的化身。这样的女人本应该是男人的梦想，本应得到男人的看重、珍惜，却被男人蹂躏，被无情的抛弃。她的毁灭既是一个纯洁女人的悲剧亦是男人的悲剧。

Abstract: Tess of the D’urbervilles is the most famous work of Thomas Hardy , a critical realist in the 19th century Britain. Tessis the heroine of the novel. She is an image of the true, the good and the beautiful and should be cherished by the man .But she is deserted heartlessly. Tess’s tragedy is not only that of a woman but also that of a man.
